SFF SUPPORTS HISTORIC SAILSHIP

The SFF Group recently arranged team building events for all employees at SFF HQ. Our employees got the opportunity to sail with the Restauration – a historic sailship that the SFF Group proudly sponsors.

During the first part of September the SFF Group arranged several team building events for employees at SFF HQ outside of Stavanger, Norway.

The events took place at the Utstein Abbey Hotel, located on the shore of the island Klosterøy. At an adjacent pier the newly built replica of the sloop (sailboat with a single mast) Restauration awaited the participants.

The original Restauration was a Norwegian sailboat that on the 4th of July 1825 brought 52 emigrants from the shores of Stavanger to the US. The ship is often referred to as the “Norwegian Mayflower”, as the journey was the first organized of its kind and marked the beginning of the Norwegian mass emigration to the US.

The idea of building a replica of one of the most famous ships in Norwegian history, was conceived in 2007, and finished in 2010 by Ryfylke Trebåtbyggjeri from Finnøy. The SFF Group is one of the project’s main sponsors.

The first part of the event consisted of a two-hour sailing trip, which included a lecture about the history of the original Restauration, as well as hands-on assignments which demanded both cooperation and teamwork from the participants, such as hoisting the sails and climbing the mast.

The last part of the day was spent dining together at the Utstein Abbey Hotel, where the participants were served excellent food and got to socialize with their colleagues.

The project will be the first ever cross-border, open-source CO2 transport and storage infrastructure network. After completion of Phase 1, the project will have a capacity to handle and store up to 1.5 million tons of CO2 per year.

The award marks the first significant carbon capture contract for the SFF Group. “We are proud to contribute as a reliable supplier in the energy transition. We continue to see increased demand from the renewables sector, and we intend to take a leading position in this segment,” said Boye O. Christiansen, Managing Director of the SFF Group.

The contract will be executed by our project department at our HQ in Sandnes, Norway. Deliveries will begin in February 2022 and will continue throughout the project’s fabrication phase, with expected completion in 2023.

SFF SUPPORTS LOCAL CHARITY WITH 100 000 NOK CONTRIBUTION

BYPRESTENE

True to tradition, the SFF Group’s Christmas gift is to support “Bypresten i Sandnes” with a contribution of 100.000 NOK (approx. 10 000 EUR) to their yearly lottery. The proceeds from the lottery goes to their fantastic work for people who are struggling with substance abuse. “Byprestene” facilitate various activities and extend support to those who need it the most. You can read more about their work here: https://bypresten.no/Vis/ArticleId/2960/Hvem-er-vi-og-hva-gjor-vi

Sandnes Pro-Service

In addition, we have sent a SFF Christmas sock to our customers, suppliers, and partners. The Christmas sock contained a Christmas greeting from the SFF team, as well as some popular Christmas candy.

After we changed our logo, we realized that we were stuck with close to 500 Christmas socks with our old design. Instead of buying new ones, we asked our creative friends at Sandnes Pro-Service (https://www.sanpro.no) if there were any possibilities of reusing them. You can see the result below:

The SFF Group wishes everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year!
